Authorized Representative in Europe
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), organizations established outside the European Union but processing the personal data of EU residents—whether by offering goods or services to EU individuals or by providing services to EU-based companies—must appoint an authorized representative within the EU, as mandated by Article 27. This appointment is MANDATORY to operate legally, ensuring compliance and providing a local point of contact for both data subjects and regulatory authorities. Non-compliance can result in significant fines and legal repercussions.
